Adventure in Sac : Fairytale Town
Daddy, Gabriel and I scooped up Grandpa and Aunt Sonja in Davis and headed up to Sacramento. We all had a hot date in Fairytale Town. Once we ducked under and crossed under Humpty Dumpty's wall, we were in.

It's a 2.5 acre park with farm animals and interactive nursey ryhme houses and sets across from the sac zoo in beautiful Land Park. The first thing Gabriel did was try to run into the moat running along the inside of the park. He also enjoyed chasing a chicken when we stopped for some snacks. It was pretty cool to see real animals and intermingle with them while walking around the park.
Grandpa was taking lots of pictures as usual and Aunt Sonja was having a great time playing with Gabriel.
The inevitable comparison to Fairyland came up and grandpa and daddy thought Fairytale town was way better. The place is really clean and well taken care over over the years. It opened in 1959 and has always been a non-profit organization supported by the public. Fairyland on the other hand was privately held and fell into disrepair until it was taken over by the city and turned into a nonprofit in 1994. I'm pretty partial to fairyland but I have to admit if Fairytale Town was closer I'd go there instead.
After a few hours at Fairytale Town we headed out the gate and passed Humpty Humpty again.Ii saw what looked like a roller coster across the street obscured by some trees. I headed towards the action. Soon we were all standing in front of Funderland, a kids park with rides.
Funderland formally Land Park Kiddie Land opened in the 1940's and is an old-fashioned amusement park. Funderland has about 10 rides for young kids. The best part is the free entrance and rides were 1.75 a pop. Gabriel had a grand time looking at the dragon rollercoaster. Since he's a little young for that we opted for the train ride. Gabriel was mesmerized and we tooted around the park.
A great day was had by all and we decided to go back and see the zoo next time
