Tumble and Tea - Food and Play on Telegraph Ave

After reading an article in Oakland magazine about local places catering to kids I decided to add  Tumble and Tea to my list of visited kid friendly places. Tumble and Tea is a food and family fun place in Oakland on Telegraph Ave.

Grab some food and pay your 6 dollar kid fee and you are ready to tumble. As I was fresh from Play cafe a few days earlier it makes sense to compare the two. Tumble and Tea ia bigger and the play area is separated from the food area. The activities are more physical as they have a few mini jungle gyms and a mat to roll around on. They also had a train which Gabriel loved. It had round cut outs in the middle of the table he could pop into to get more leverage with further reaching train pieces.

I love the interior design of the space. You can tell a pro designed it.  The colors work well and they have modern painted  children's portaits on the wall that give it a Temescal Berkley Oaktown feel.

I think overall I would head back to the Play Cafe first as it is closer to my house and I liked that the food area was integrated with the play area and your kid was never out of sight. I do like the overall hipness of Tumble and Tea and if I am in the aree with Gabriel I will surely stop by.
